Assistant Maintenance Mechanic

Scilltech Professional Services is seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Maintenance Mechanic to join their on-site maintenance team in Mississauga, Ontario. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals at the start of their maintenance career or those with some prior experience to develop their mechanical skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate will assist in day-to-day maintenance operations, helping maintain equipment and infrastructure in optimal working condition. The position is ideal for hands-on individuals who are physically fit, safety-conscious, and ready to learn on the job under the supervision of experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist senior maintenance mechanics with installation, repair, and servicing of machinery and equipment.

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubricating machines, replacing worn parts, and cleaning components.

• Aid in diagnosing mechanical issues and support troubleshooting efforts.

• Help maintain accurate data entry records of maintenance activities.

• Assist with installing and assembling new machinery or mechanical systems as required.

• Monitor machinery and report irregularities or performance issues to supervisors.

• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a maintenance or mechanical role preferred.

• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and use of tools like wrenches, screwdrivers, and power tools.

• Ability to follow directions and collaborate effectively in a team.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.

• Physically capable of lifting heavy items and performing manual labor.

• Forklift license or experience is a plus.

Job Details:

• Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

• Work Environment: On-site, fast-paced, and team-driven

• Monthly Salary: CAD 3520 to 4160

• Employment Type: Full-time
