Assistant Controller

 

Description:

A rapidly expanding high-tech organization is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Assistant Controller to join its finance team. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Assistant Controller will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and playing a critical role in financial reporting and month-end close processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical accounting foundation, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to adapt to evolving priorities with efficiency and precision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, inventory, and other transactional processes.

  • Review and oversee monthly financial close procedures, including general ledger reconciliations and journal entry approvals.

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc financial reports to support strategic decision-making.

  • Assist with external year-end audit processes by ensuring timely and accurate documentation.

  • Coordinate with Human Resources to manage payroll operations and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures to support the company’s financial integrity and regulatory compliance.

  • Enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure operational efficiency.

Candidate Profile:

  • CPA designation completed or in progress.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • At least 4 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a high-growth or tech environment.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards such as ASPE and/or IFRS.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Monthly salary between $7916 and $8750 (annual: $95,000 – $105,000).
