Description:
BNP Paribas, a leading international banking institution and one of Montreal’s Top Employers for 2024, is seeking a skilled and experienced Application Production Support Analyst to join their Global Business Lines support team. This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity, availability, and continuity of business-critical applications across international time zones.
As part of a global APS team spread across the USA, Canada, and India, the selected candidate will ensure the seamless daily operations of supported applications, especially during peak business hours. The team operates on a 24/7 basis and focuses on applying robust IT policies and security measures aligned with Group and North America standards.
The APS Analyst will be responsible for investigating and resolving production issues, supporting application deployments, updating documentation, and participating in post-incident analysis. The role also includes coordinating testing and business continuity processes, ensuring compliance with IT governance, and contributing to global transformation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in coordination with internal and external stakeholders
Support deployments and patch cycles for applications
Maintain up-to-date support documentation and participate in business continuity planning
Collaborate in governance, audit, and post-incident processes
Work on global IT projects involving teams in the US, Canada, Paris, India, Singapore, and Hong Kong
Coordinate post-migration validations and end-to-end testing
Ensure 24/7 support coverage and adhere to IT security policies
Education / Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field
Minimum 5 years of experience in application production support
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of UNIX, Linux, and shell scripting
Proficiency in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
Familiarity with Windows Server environments
Understanding of infrastructure and security tools (e.g., VMware, WebSphere, Tomcat, firewalls, PGP encryption, IBM MQ Series)
Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace
Working knowledge of ITIL framework (incident, problem, change management)
Familiarity with Tibco Business Works and EMS
Advanced Excel skills for reporting and analysis
Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written)
Ability to work flexible hours and under pressure in a 24x7 environment
Team player with autonomy and time management skills
Experience working in geographically distributed teams
Additional Information:
Hybrid work arrangement with up to 50% remote work
Must be legally eligible to work in Montreal, Canada, with a valid work or study permit if applicable
Physical presence in the office is a requirement for this position
