Active Directory Specialist

Description:

Soho Square Solutions is hiring a contract-based Active Directory Specialist to support its client’s infrastructure operations in Montreal on a hybrid working model. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Active Directory (AD) architecture, configuration, and troubleshooting, along with strong knowledge of identity and access management, Windows Server environments, and Group Policy.

The specialist will be responsible for managing and securing the enterprise’s Active Directory environment, ensuring uptime, scalability, and integration with other systems and services. This position is critical for maintaining the security, integrity, and optimal performance of the directory services infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and administer Active Directory services including users, groups, permissions, and organizational units

• Design and implement GPOs (Group Policy Objects) to ensure secure system configurations

• Troubleshoot and resolve directory-related issues and access problems

• Support hybrid identity setups (on-premises and Azure AD)

• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enhance directory security and implement best practices

• Perform AD health checks, audits, and compliance reporting

• Participate in migrations, upgrades, and DR (Disaster Recovery) simulations

• Integrate AD with other enterprise systems (e.g., Exchange, SCCM, Azure, IAM platforms)

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong experience with Active Directory domain services, DNS, DHCP, and related components

• Knowledge of identity lifecycle management, RBAC (role-based access control), and LDAP

• Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for AD automation and reporting

• Experience with hybrid environments, including Azure Active Directory

• Understanding of security principles related to authentication, SSO, and MFA

• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
