Accounting Manager

Description:

IFG – International Financial Group is seeking a qualified Accounting Manager (CPA) to join their team in Scarborough, Ontario. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing financial reporting, accounting operations, and ensuring compliance with established standards and internal controls within the manufacturing industry.

As an Accounting Manager, you will oversee all core accounting functions, lead month-end and year-end closing activities, ensure accuracy in financial statements, and contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.

• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting.

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.

• Manage and monitor expense reporting and control processes to ensure compliance with internal policies.

• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.

• Provide support during internal and external audits, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and available.

• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to improve accounting workflows and financial transparency.

• Assist in tax filing and audit coordination, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.

• Utilize SAP for all accounting and financial reporting activities, ensuring proper data management and process efficiency.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• CPA designation is mandatory.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

• Proven experience in financial reporting, accounting management, and operational accounting within the manufacturing industry is preferred.

• Proficiency with SAP and strong technical understanding of accounting principles and standards.

• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical ability.

• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities under strict deadlines.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
