Description:

Emond Harnden, a premier management-side labour and employment law firm, is seeking a full-time Accountant to join its Finance team. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work with a team of five professionals and reports directly to the Finance Manager. As the second-in-command, the Accountant will play a key role in preparing month-end financial reports, overseeing daily financial operations, and providing guidance to the team. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare month-end reports, including financial statements, data analysis, and account reconciliations

• Oversee daily financial operations such as billing, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable/payable, and payroll

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for associates

• Mentor and guide the Finance team to meet departmental goals

• Collaborate with the Finance Manager to develop financial policies and controls

• Identify and implement process improvements and automation within the team

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and legal requirements

• Perform ad-hoc financial tasks as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

• Professional accounting designation (CPA) or in progress toward certification

• Experience in full-cycle accounting

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office (Excel)

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Proven leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with non-financial stakeholders

• Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset

Compensation & Benefits:

• Monthly salary range: $6250 to $7916 CAD
