Account Executive-Government Relations

Location: Regina, SK

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

Accountable to drive sales growth by identifying and cultivating customer relationships with key decision-makers in highly competitive environments to evolve and maintain long term, stable, and profitable business relationships within a specific account base. Provides leadership within SaskTel working with Sales teams, Marketing, Technical Sales Consultants and external partners to proactively engage key accounts to identify, propose, negotiate and contract new business technology solutions. Generates new revenue from business technology solutions while maintaining and protecting existing revenue and margin.

Specific Accountabilities

 Prime accountability for sales and revenue for a specific account base.
 Establishes credibility with customers’ executive and key influencers through the assessment, recommendation and design of customized technology solutions.
 Develops and employs appropriate competitive strategies and continually modifies strategies to meet changing circumstances.
 Negotiates and executes customer and strategic partner contracts to ensure customer satisfaction is met or exceeded
 Facilitates and participates in joint strategic planning with customers to share short- and long-term goals and direction.
 When appropriate, briefs and involves SaskTel Executive in account activities.
 Accountable for personal development in all aspects of the Account Executive job to ensure personal skills are adequate to meet the demands of a highly competitive marketplace.
 Influences and leads cross-functional teams, including Sales and supporting teams in the successful sales of SaskTel services

Qualifications

 Degree or certificate in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience with extensive relevant sales/consulting experience in business technology solutions.
 Demonstrated thorough knowledge of complex sales across business technology areas.
 Demonstrated ability to interpret and effectively communicate technological concepts to customer c-suite and technical leaders and industry stakeholders.
 Outstanding consultative selling, analytical skills and business acumen with demonstrated knowledge of business fundamentals including finance, marketing, business, planning and communication.
 Extensive knowledge of business technology landscape, including competitive market trends, issues, and evolving technologies.
 Demonstrated ability to close sales in highly competitive industries.
 Possesses a high energy level and willingness to work irregular hours in an unpredictable, demanding work environment where extensive travel may be required.
 Experience leading strategic projects involving cross-functional groups (project management skills or previous experience in customer projects an asset).
 Strong customer service orientation.
Excellent ability to plan and organize in a self-directed environment.
Analytical skills that enable accurate sales forecasting and informed, data-based decision-making.
Valid Driver’s license.

Responsible for negotiation, execution and/or enforcement of contracts for obtaining goods and services related to the area of responsibility. 
Accountable for proactively identifying, inspiring, and acting on opportunities to innovate and drive process improvements, develop growth initiatives, and improve revenue and/or reduce costs. Driving valuable customer experiences and employee engagement, improving sustainability, and demonstrates commitment to the communities that we serve.
