Description:

The Department of Medical Imaging at St. Michael’s Hospital (SMH), in partnership with the University of Toronto, is seeking an academic hybrid radiologist specializing in both Interventional and Diagnostic Neuroradiology. This prestigious faculty role provides the opportunity to join the Neurovascular (NV) Practice, a multidisciplinary group recognized for excellence in patient care, research, and education.

The successful candidate will hold a full-time academic clinical appointment at the University of Toronto, with rank determined by qualifications and achievements. Start date is anticipated for January 1, 2026, or earlier.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform the full spectrum of neurovascular (NV) procedures, including endovascular aneurysm repair, carotid stenting, stroke intervention, embolization, and advanced neurovascular therapies.

  • Interpret a wide range of diagnostic neuroradiology studies (CT, MRI, X-ray, angiography, lumbar puncture, myelography).

  • Actively engage in clinical leadership, teaching, and academic research, contributing to undergraduate, postgraduate, and fellowship training programs.

  • Collaborate closely with Neurology, Neurosurgery, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, and Trauma teams, ensuring high-quality multidisciplinary patient care.

  • Contribute to the advancement of research through the RADIS Lab and partnerships with the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute and Keenan Research Centre.

Facilities & Resources:

  • Philips biplane flat panel neurointervention suite and Siemens Artis Icono in OR-X.

  • Comprehensive Stroke Centre and ACS Level I Trauma designation at SMH.

  • Advanced imaging facilities: 3 multi-detector CT scanners, 4 MRI scanners (1.5T & 3.0T), ultra-low field 0.064T MRI (first in Canada), and new PET-CT scanner (installed 2024).

  • Strong academic environment with multiple neuroradiology fellows and robust teaching infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

  • MD (or equivalent) with Canadian or international recognition.

  • Residency in Diagnostic Radiology.

  • Fellowship in Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology.

  • Eligibility for CPSO (College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario) licensure.

  • Strong academic record in teaching and/or research.

  • Ability to work in a collaborative, high-volume clinical environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: CAD 400000 – 600000 annually (CAD 33333 – 50000 monthly).
