Description:
Ranch Ehrlo Society is seeking a Youth Care Worker to join their dynamic team at Welke House in Martensville, Saskatchewan, for a full-time term role ending September 5, 2025. This is a rewarding frontline position in a trauma-informed, person-centered care setting for children, youth, and adults with complex needs.
As a Youth Care Worker, you will play a critical role in creating a nurturing and structured group living environment. You’ll be working closely with participants who require behavioral, emotional, or developmental support. This includes helping them acquire life skills, guiding their personal growth, and promoting positive behavioral changes.
Client Services & Engagement
Provide direct care and emotional support to participants in a group home setting
Assist in the development and execution of individualized and group activity plans
Teach life skills such as hygiene, cooking, budgeting, and interpersonal communication
Utilize behavior management techniques such as crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and life space interviewing
Support clinical treatment planning and goal development through regular feedback
Document daily activities, incidents, and progress according to agency standards
Leadership & Team Collaboration
Act as a role model, demonstrating fairness, respect, and professional conduct
Mentor and guide new staff, volunteers, and practicum students as directed
Participate actively in team meetings, supporting a collaborative care approach
Resource Management
Assist with unit budget tracking, receipts, and resource allocation
Help maintain agency assets, including vehicles, buildings, equipment, and furnishings
Complete vehicle logbooks and other relevant documentation when required
Health & Safety
Promote safe practices and report hazards to ensure a secure environment
Comply with all agency and government policies and regulations
Education:
Minimum: High School Diploma
Preferred: Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Child and Youth Care or related discipline
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year working with individuals with behavioral or developmental challenges
Licensing & Requirements:
Class 5 Novice 2 (or higher) driver’s license
Must be eligible under commercial auto insurance
Completion of all mandatory agency training
Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector clearance
Strong emotional intelligence, patience, and resilience
Effective communicator with collaborative team mindset
Creative engagement in activities (e.g., arts, sports, outdoor adventures)
Problem-solver with behavior management knowledge
Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
Basic computer literacy
Hourly Wage: CAD $24.57 to $31.77
Monthly Equivalent: CAD $4,258 to $5,502
