Workshop Supervisor

Description:

Gerdau is seeking a Workshop Supervisor to lead a productive workshop, ensuring efficiency, organization, and high performance. This role requires strong leadership skills, communication abilities, and technical expertise to manage a team of skilled tradespeople and apprentices. The Workshop Supervisor will oversee daily work schedules, prioritize tasks, manage tools and consumables, and ensure optimal productivity in the shop.

Key Responsibilities:

📌 Leadership & Team Management

• Oversee and direct a team of 10-15 unionized skilled trades/apprentices.
• Assign tasks, create daily schedules, and ensure efficient workflow.
• Provide guidance, enforce policies, and foster a productive work environment.

📌 Shop Operations & Maintenance

• Manage equipment repair workflow in the Shop and in CMMS (SAP).
• Maintain workshop organization, cleanliness, and safety.
• Support troubleshooting and technical challenges, including diagnostics and parts support.
• Manage shop consumables and tools to ensure smooth operations.

📌 Collaboration & Efficiency

• Work closely with Area Supervisors to prioritize Shop work.
• Optimize productivity and efficiency by implementing best practices.
• Communicate job expectations and enforce company policies.

Job Requirements:

✔ Minimum 1 year of leadership/supervisory experience in an industrial setting.
✔ Technologist OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering OR Certified Tradesperson.
✔ Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
✔ Positive attitude and problem-solving mindset.
✔ Ability to work overtime when required.
✔ Strong collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
