Description:

The Edmonton Police Service has an opportunity for a highly motivated team player with strong administrative support skills and a keen interest in labour relations. Working in a dynamic environment, with experienced labour relations practitioners, the Human Resources Assistant will provide technical and administrative support to a team of Human Resources Advisors. The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
 

  • Receive, review, and track all grievances, investigations, disciplinary correspondence
  • Receive, review, and refer incoming inquiries and requests, including FOIP requests, investigations, requests for information, briefings and other general inquiries to Labour Relations
  • Provide confidential administrative support and facilitate effective daily operations of the HR Support and Labour Relations Branch
  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources team
  • Attend a variety of meetings to record notes, track and ensure resolution of sensitive labour relations action items
  • Prepares employee correspondence for a variety of requests including leaves of absence and extra employment
  • Coordinates step increases for unionized employees and annual management/professional merit increases
  • Responsible for electronic and paper filing for the HRS and LR Branch
  • Performing other related duties as required
  • Support in a variety of Labour Relations initiatives
