Windows Support Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Consultant will be responsible for providing the following Services to the Bank:
Under the direction of the Assistant Director, Core Platform and Infrastructure Services
• Provide direct support to projects and platform operations, deploying, maintaining, and upgrading our Windows server environment, both on-premise and cloud
• Provide ongoing level 2 technical support, maintenance, and improvement to Bank environments
• Provide direct support through a ticketing system (ServiceNOW) to application owners, developers, and related internal and external teams
• Create thorough and detailed documentation (SOPs) of all changes, upgrades, procedures, user/vendor interactions, and root cause analysis
• Recommend ways to improve performance, quality, and efficiency
• Other related activities and deliverables, as required
Required Qualifications & Skills:
The Consultant should have the following qualifications and skills:
• University degree or college diploma in computer science, information technology or a related field
• A minimum of three (3) years of recent relevant work experience with supporting critical applications in a hybrid environment
• A minimum of two (2) years of recent demonstrated experience in Windows Server systems, with solid abilities in administering Microsoft Group Policies and Microsoft SCCM
• A minimum of two (2) years of recent demonstrated experience in performance and capacity monitoring for critical servers
• A minimum of two (2) years of recent demonstrated ability to develop and support Infrastructure as Code (IAC) with tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Azure, etc.
• Demonstrated experience with the maintenance and upgrading of Windows 2016 – Windows 2022 Server Environments
• Demonstrated advanced understanding of Windows server support
• Demonstrated knowledge of a scripting language, such as Ansible playbooks, PowerShell or Python
• Demonstrated ability to create automation scripts, deploy orchestration and automation processes and products
• Demonstrated ability to make technical decisions needed to support a multi-tiered large-scale highly isolated production environment
• Demonstrated experience applying a product and service-oriented mindset, including end-to-end ownership and accountability for resolution
• Demonstrated ability to rank tasks per priority, meet deadlines and perform multiple tasks concurrently
