Queen’s University is a leading Canadian research-intensive institution, known for providing transformative learning experiences and fostering an inclusive workplace culture. As part of the Housing & Ancillary Services team, which manages over 5,000 student residence beds, dining halls, retail food outlets, and conference facilities, the Wellness & Sustainability Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing student wellness through nutrition and sustainable food practices.

This role is responsible for promoting healthy and sustainable food systems, managing allergy risk reduction programs, and integrating wellness and sustainability initiatives into food service operations across campus. The incumbent will collaborate closely with food service providers, students, campus stakeholders, and community partners to improve meal planning, dietary awareness, and sustainability standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as a subject matter expert in nutrition and wellness, advising on meal planning, dietary challenges, and healthy eating strategies.

  • Delivering educational sessions, guest lectures, and workshops on nutrition, food insecurity, plant-based diets, cooking skills, eating on a budget, and fueling for sports.

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive Allergy Risk Management Program to minimize incidents and ensure student safety.

  • Preparing communication materials—both print and digital—to promote healthy eating and sustainable food practices.

  • Collaborating with campus and community partners to support students’ nutritional needs and connect them to relevant services.

  • Providing clinical nutrition management for students with specific health conditions.

  • Partnering with suppliers and food service providers to implement sustainable food initiatives, including responsible purchasing, allergen management, packaging, and nutrition standards.

  • Actively contributing to policy, process, and project development within the Housing & Ancillary Services department.

  • Ensuring that all practices align with principles of equity, diversity, accessibility, inclusion, and Indigenization.

Requirements:

  • A four-year bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

  • Registered Dietitian designation with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.

  • 3–5 years of experience in nutrition, wellness, or student advisory environments.

  • Experience in customer-focused service delivery considered an asset.

  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and project management skills.

  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening.
