Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, plan, implement, test, and maintain high-quality interactive web applications using Python and Javascript frameworks such as Django and React.
  • Update and develop data portals for accessing genomics experiment results.
  • Interactively write code to incorporate new concepts and test new designs.
  • Ensure implementation is done using the best coding practices, including proper code commenting, unit testing, etc.
  • Follow technical and functional design specifications provided by analysts and technical leadership.
  • Apply solutions for the organization and analysis of genomic datasets.
  • Meet with clients and users to understand and help define their analysis software requirements. When appropriate, inform the supervisor and formulate recommendations.
  • Identify, investigate and solve user problems to integrate solutions across platforms.
  • Actively contribute to problem-solving team discussions.
  • Provide an internal report about the progress of the projects.
  • Stay informed of the most relevant software and bioinformatics practices in genomics by reading the scientific literature and attending scientific presentations.
  • Manage several development projects simultaneously
  • Participate in the development of bioinformatics software solutions for the analysis of complex genomic datasets
