Description:

The University of Niagara Falls Canada is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and technically skilled Videographer/Photographer to produce engaging visual content that promotes the university’s programs, events, and community. This role will involve conceptualizing, capturing, and editing high-quality photos and videos for marketing, admissions, social media, and other platforms. The ideal candidate will be an experienced storyteller who can work under tight deadlines while maintaining brand consistency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Videography: Plan, film, and edit promotional, event, and social media videos.

  • Photography: Capture professional images for university events, faculty profiles, student life, and campus promotions.

  • Editing: Retouch and edit photos/videos in alignment with brand standards.

  • Creative Concepting: Collaborate with marketing and academic teams to develop visual project ideas and storyboards.

  • Event Coverage: Provide on-site coverage for graduations, orientations, lectures, sports events, and fundraisers.

  • Content Library: Organize and maintain a digital archive of photo and video assets.

  • Equipment Care: Maintain and recommend updates for photography/videography gear.

  • Brand Alignment: Ensure all media reflects the university’s branding and messaging.

  • Collaboration: Work with students, faculty, and staff to authentically capture stories.

  • Mentorship: Optionally, train students interested in photography/videography skills.


Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Diploma or degree in photography, videography, media production, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).

  • 2–5 years of professional experience in photography/videography.

  • Proficiency with cameras, lighting, and audio equipment.

  • Skilled in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.

  • Strong portfolio with event coverage, creative projects, and YouTube content.

  • Understanding of YouTube analytics, SEO, and audience engagement.

  • Excellent visual storytelling, attention to detail, and time management skills.

Preferred Assets:

  • Drone photography/videography certification.

  • Experience in higher education settings.

  • Basic graphic design skills.


Working Conditions

  • Full-time position, 5 days/week on campus.

  • Flexibility to work evenings/weekends for special events.

  • Ability to lift/carry equipment and work indoors/outdoors in varying weather.
