We are seeking a VDC Project Lead to join our team in Ottawa! The VDC Project Lead serves as the site liaison and primary point of contact for all VDC content on assigned projects. This role manages coordination models, ensures compliance with VDC requirements, and drives process improvements to optimize project delivery and prefabrication strategies.

- Manage and update project coordination models to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Lead VDC adoption and process improvements across projects.
- Support prefabrication strategies and optimize constructability for maximum efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as site liaison and lead for all VDC content.
- Manage, update, and review coordination (Navisworks) models weekly.
- Assist in implementing and evolving VDC department processes.
- Ensure projects meet all VDC requirements set by customers and stakeholders.
- Consolidate content from all VDC platforms into coordination files.
- Manage document storage and communication streams (ACC, BIM360, Egnyte, Procore).
- Track design changes and ensure timely model updates.
- Maintain records of approved shop drawings and QA/QC measures.
- Ensure placeholder geometry transitions to accurate geometry promptly.
- Add metadata to model families per project specifications.
- Verify dimensional accuracy to maximize site productivity.
- Pursue prefabricated assembly strategies with logistical considerations.
Must-haves:
- Post-secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Drafting, or relevant technical diploma; journeyman status or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical trades and construction industries.
- Proficiency in Navisworks and Revit with Fabrication Parts.
- Ability to resolve and manage multidiscipline coordination.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, codes, and budgets.
- Advanced technical knowledge for interpreting documentation and design drawings.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work within tight timelines and manage competing priorities.
