Underground Materials Assistant

Description:

The Underground Materials Attendant is responsible to perform support functions in the Underground Operations Tool Crib and Bit Sharpening Shop. NOTE: This position will be based on surface, and there will be no requirement to go underground.

Additionally, i n this position, you will:
 

• Operate a forklift with a bucket attachment.
• Use bit sharpening equipment.
• Conduct inspections of fall arrest equipment and discard any materials deemed unfit for use;
• Efficiently manage the ordering, shipping, and handling of materials, while maintaining accurate inventory records. Monitor the usage and whereabouts of tools and equipment.
• Conduct inspections, clean, and proficiently operate both hand and power tools.
• Ensure the functionality and accessibility of fire extinguishers.
• Undertake general services and fulfilling assigned tasks as directed by the mine operations crew.
   

About You

Education :
 

• Grade 10 or equivalent.
   

Experience :
 

• 1+ years’ work experience in a heavy industrial or mining environment.
• Knowledge of training in an underground mine environment considered an asset.
• Understanding of computerized work management systems;
