CAE, a world leader in aviation training and simulation, is seeking an experienced Flight Simulator Instructor to join the Ground Based Training System (GBTS) team in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. This position is part of the NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC) program and focuses on delivering world-class simulator and academic instruction to military student pilots from Canada and allied nations.
This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals with a military pilot background who are passionate about aviation, mentorship, and the advancement of future Air Force pilots. As part of CAE’s highly skilled and collaborative training environment, the selected candidate will work with state-of-the-art simulation tools and instructional resources to provide superior pilot education and support operational readiness.
Deliver simulator-based flight instruction on the Harvard II Flight Training Device (FTD) in accordance with NFTC Training Plans and the Canadian Forces Individual Training and Education System (CFITES).
Develop and maintain subject-matter expertise in aviation-related academic topics relevant to military pilot training.
Prepare and deliver comprehensive academic lectures to enhance theoretical knowledge and flight readiness among student pilots.
Maintain detailed knowledge of Aircraft Operating Instructions (AOIs), the Standard Manoeuvre Manual, and other NFTC pilot training syllabi.
Continuously enhance instructional effectiveness by applying approved pilot teaching methodologies.
Collaborate with training staff and operational leaders to ensure training quality and standardization.
Foster a professional, supportive, and safety-focused learning environment for all trainees.
Military pilot background with operational and instructional flight experience.
Solid understanding of approved pilot instructional techniques and aviation training methodologies.
Experience as a flight instructor within a military environment is highly preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to deliver clear and engaging instruction in English.
Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, with a team-oriented approach.
Flexible attitude toward tasks and projects, capable of adapting to changing operational needs.
Must successfully pass a security evaluation as per Controlled Goods Directorate of Canada requirements.
Must be eligible for US ITAR compliance (re-transfer authorization requirements).
