Zavida Coffee Company, with over 40 years of coffee craftsmanship from Costa Rica to Quebec, is on the lookout for a highly driven and innovative Trade Marketing Manager. This role is a unique opportunity for a strategic and experienced professional to shape the future of Zavida’s retail presence, ensuring a dynamic connection between our exceptional coffee offerings and consumers across diverse markets.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in aligning marketing strategies with sales performance, championing in-store promotions, building strong partnerships, and optimizing consumer engagement through data-driven trade marketing tactics. You will be at the intersection of sales, marketing, finance, and operations—creating synergy that drives business growth.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement robust trade marketing strategies aligned with sales goals, focusing on enhancing in-store product visibility and promotional engagement.

  • Financial Planning: Build financial business cases for projects, develop cost structures, and propose initiatives that meet profitability targets.

  • Pricing & Customization: Collaborate with sales and finance to create competitive pricing strategies and manage customer-specific price lists.

  • Sales Enablement: Provide sales teams with marketing materials and training for stronger retail promotion capabilities and product advocacy.

  • Promotions & Events: Plan and execute promotional activities, events, and sampling programs, ensuring successful retail roll-outs and partner coordination.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as a central liaison among sales, marketing, operations, and finance to streamline execution of trade marketing campaigns.

  • Market Intelligence: Monitor consumer behavior, retail performance, and competitor actions, using insights to continuously refine strategies.

  • Performance Reporting: Evaluate ROI on marketing initiatives and ensure all trade activities remain within budget.

  • Merchandising & Product Launches: Ensure effective shelf placement, develop merchandising standards, and support innovative product launches with targeted campaigns.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in trade marketing or a related role within the CPG industry (coffee or beverage sectors preferred).

  • 3–5 years’ experience in sales, with account management background considered a strong plus.

  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset.

  • Strong analytical skills, creative thinking, and a results-driven mindset.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel); CRM or ERP experience is an asset.

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Professional demeanor, customer-focused attitude, and independent initiative.

  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.

  • Willingness to travel up to 90%, including occasional evenings and weekends within the Ottawa area.
