Trade Marketing Manager

 

Description:

SNDL, the largest private-sector liquor and cannabis retailer in Canada, is seeking a Trade Marketing Manager to join their Marketing team. This role is perfect for a dynamic and strategic professional with a passion for the growing cannabis industry. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Trade Marketing Manager will work closely with sales, marketing, and retail teams to develop and execute trade marketing plans that enhance brand visibility, optimize product placements, and boost sales performance across various channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trade Marketing Plans:

    • Develop and execute trade marketing initiatives that support field sales and retail teams.

    • Collaborate with sales and retail teams to ensure alignment on priorities and effective execution in retail environments.

    • Analyze retail performance data and provide actionable insights for optimizing marketing efforts.

    • Partner with product teams to ensure product launches are supported with comprehensive marketing campaigns.

  • Market Insights and Competitive Analysis:

    • Monitor industry trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity to adjust marketing strategies.

    • Provide trade tool analysis to improve visibility and activation in retail stores.

    • Work with the Sales team to develop sell-in materials for new products and ensure successful launches.

  • Budget and Financial Management:

    • Manage the trade marketing budget, including reconciliation, processing, reporting, and forecasting.

  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with various teams (sales, retail, product) to drive business results and strengthen market presence.

Requirements:

  • Education: B.A or B.Sc. degree in Business, Marketing or related field.

  • Experience: 5+ years of brand management, sales, or trade marketing experience, preferably in food, alcohol, cannabis, or tobacco industries.

  • Skills:

    • Superior communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation.

    • Expert proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.

    • Ability to work from the office three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).

  • Strong project management skills and proactive mindset in addressing business problems.

  • Insight into market positioning and strategy development.

  • Familiarity with cannabis regulations (preferred).

  • Bilingual in English and French (an asset).
