Description:
The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), one of the world’s leading paediatric healthcare centres, is seeking a Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist to join the Neurophysiology Department on a part-time permanent basis. SickKids is committed to integrating healthcare, research, and education to improve child health while providing a supportive and learning-focused environment.
As a Neurodiagnostic Technologist, you will provide safe, skilled, and compassionate care while performing advanced neurodiagnostic procedures. You will work closely with children and families, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform advanced neurodiagnostic procedures including:
Electroencephalography (EEG)
Evoked Potentials (EP)
Electromyography (EMG)
Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS)
Additional procedures may include epilepsy monitoring, invasive monitoring, cortical stimulation, functional mapping, and Magnetoencephalography (MEG).
Obtain clinical neurological history and educate patients and families about procedures.
Prepare patients and conduct procedures using specialized equipment, producing detailed technical reports.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot neurodiagnostic machinery.
Participate in teaching, training, and educational activities.
Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed.
Required Strengths and Skills:
Registered Technologist (R.E.T.) Certificate from CBRET (proof required).
Graduate of a CBRET-approved Electrophysiology program from a recognized college or teaching hospital.
Minimum of 3 years clinical neurophysiological experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work accurately and efficiently in fast-paced, high-stress situations.
Proficient with computers and able to meet continuing education requirements.
Patient and family-care oriented.

Assets:
University background in sciences.
Membership or willingness to obtain membership with the Canadian Association of Electroneurophysiology Technologists (CAET) within 6 months.
Current or willingness to obtain BCLS certification within 6 months.
