Technical Test Lead

Burgeon IT Services is seeking a Technical Test Lead to join its Calgary-based team on a long-term hybrid contract. The ideal candidate will bring advanced expertise in ETL/Data Warehouse testing, SQL, and API validation while leading testing initiatives across large-scale data migration and integration projects. This role is perfect for a testing professional with proven leadership skills, hands-on technical abilities, and experience working in a global delivery model.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead ETL/Data Warehouse testing efforts, including validation of complex data migration and transformation processes.

• Collaborate closely with development teams, business stakeholders, and QA colleagues to ensure early involvement in SDLC and robust test coverage.

• Perform functional and integration testing across Salesforce, Reltio (MDM), and Data Warehouse platforms.

• Conduct API testing using industry-standard tools to validate web services and microservices functionality and performance.

• Apply strong SQL skills to write, optimize, and validate queries, ensuring data accuracy and transformation logic compliance.

• Prepare and deliver QA deliverables, including Test Strategy, Test Plans, Status Reports, and Metrics Dashboards.

• Identify automation opportunities, implement testing solutions, and enhance test efficiency.

• Troubleshoot and debug test failures, analyze root causes, and provide solutions to improve coverage.

• Coordinate across global teams to ensure seamless delivery, knowledge sharing, and timely issue resolution.

• Provide clear and regular communication to clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT or related field.

• 7+ years of IT experience with 6+ years focused on data migration and testing.

• Proven expertise in ETL/Data Warehouse Testing, Informatica, Oracle, Teradata, and Snowflake.

• Solid experience with QA methodologies, Test Strategy development, and test reporting.

• Strong client-facing and communication skills with demonstrated leadership ability.

• Familiarity with telecom domain testing highly preferred.

• Automation testing exposure is considered an asset.
