Technical Support Administrator

 

Description:

Under the direction of the Project and Logistics Manager, the Technical Support Administrator will implement administrative procedures or systems that are moderately complex in support of the faculty, department, or unit’s operations and ensure activities meet or exceed established quality requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform and organize activities to support the daily operations of the unit by ensuring that functions are carried out in accordance with established goals and objectives.
  • Assess and resolve problems. When appropriate, inform supervisor and formulate recommendations.
  • Offer potential solutions to assist in the planning and development of new services or the improvement of services
  • Inspect and ensure proper functioning of a wide variety of equipment.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulations affecting unit
  • Establish and foster effective working relationships by identifying needs and providing support in the delivery of services


Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

Diploma of college studies (DCS) or Undergraduate University. Significant experience in the field of information technology health and customer service. A combination of training, co-op placements, and experience in academic and clinical settings could meet the qualifications required for performing the duties of this position. Knowledge of care techniques and procedures would be an asset. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) for interacting and working effectively with other members of the faculty, staff, students and suppliers in a positive, helpful and cooperative working relationship. Ability to support information technology and office automation. Able to work with the Office suite and learn other programs including simulation, robotic, audio-visual and computer equipment. Able to work in a clinical, academic and university environment that has a cadaver dissection laboratory. Available to work evenings and weekends (occasional needs). Physically capable of lifting, moving, maintaining and configuring computers, audio-visual equipment, manikins and simulation lab equipment that can weigh up to 50 lbs, without assistance.

Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 1 on a scale of 0-4.
