Technical Project Manager

 

Description:

Artech L.L.C. is seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager for a contract role in Toronto, ON, offering a hybrid work setup with 2 days onsite per week. The role is focused on end-to-end project accountability, ensuring successful completion of large-scale technical projects while adhering to timelines, budget, and quality standards. The position involves managing cross-functional teams, engaging with stakeholders, and driving project deliverables with measurable business outcomes.

The Technical Project Manager will leverage strong project management skills, including expertise in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, risk management, and change management. This role requires a PMP certification, with educational background in Project Management as a must, while degrees in Computer Science or Information Systems are considered a plus.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Direct and coordinate team members to ensure the successful completion of project deliverables.

  • Maintain rigorous control over project scope, ensuring commitments are met within agreed timelines, costs, and quality parameters.

  • Manage large-scale projects valued between $1MM–$5MM, addressing complexity and risks.

  • Ensure project deliverables are of high quality, aligned with organizational standards, and provide quantifiable business benefits.

Project Communications Management

  • Prepare and report administrative, financial, and status metrics to Business Sponsors and stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability.

Project Cost Management

  • Manage project budgets in collaboration with Finance and key stakeholders.

  • Provide monthly reporting for finance, compliance, and issue tracking.

Project Resource Management

  • Identify people, processes, and technology implications for stakeholders.

  • Design and implement change management strategies to support smooth adoption of project outcomes.

Project Risk Management

  • Identify project risks related to technology, procurement, business processes, and requirements.

  • Develop mitigation plans to minimize project risks.

Project Schedule Management

  • Ensure project solutions are delivered on time, coordinating resources and milestones effectively.

Project Scope Management

  • Define project drivers and constraints.

  • Navigate organizational complexity to coordinate appropriate resources and stakeholders.

Project Quality Management

  • Establish effective oversight and governance mechanisms.

  • Engage stakeholders to ensure the highest standards and superior customer experience.


Education and Qualifications:

  • Project Management education required; PMP certification is mandatory.

  • Degrees in Computer Science or Information Systems are preferred but not mandatory.

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in project management methodologies, including SDLC, Clarity, MS Project, SharePoint, and both Waterfall and Agile approaches.

  • Strong relationship management, consulting, communication, and presentation skills.
