Description:
RRC Polytech is seeking a Technical Officer (Architectural) for their Facility Management department. This position involves planning, developing, and delivering a range of projects, including small to multimillion-dollar initiatives. The Technical Officer will oversee all phases of the projects, from planning to design, tendering, construction, occupancy, and project closeout. The role also provides internal consulting services and technical support, manages daily operations, and ensures adherence to relevant regulations, policies, and guidelines.
Plan, develop, and deliver projects, including RFP/RFQ development and scope of work.
Manage all phases of projects related to building envelope, architectural, and structural systems.
Provide internal consulting and technical support for ongoing operations.
Ensure compliance with Federal, Provincial, and Municipal regulations, along with RRC Polytech’s policies.
Coordinate with contractors to ensure timely and quality delivery.
Ensure projects are completed within budget, on time, and to the required standards.
Manage maintenance schedules and provide support for the daily operation of the facilities.
Licensed Architect or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.), Certified Technician (C.Tech.), Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.T.), or B.Env.D. in a relevant program.
Significant experience in planning and delivering interior design and construction projects.
Experience in managing building envelope, architectural, and/or structural projects.
Strong understanding of building codes, design practices, and materials.
Self-motivated with excellent prioritization and organizational skills.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
Experience in fostering a respectful workplace culture and promoting continuous improvement.
Degree in architecture or diploma in civil/structural/architectural/building engineering technology.
Experience in Facility Management within an institutional environment.
Familiarity with Project Management software.
Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Possible evening/weekend work, overtime, and travel may be required.
Subject to audiometric assessments.
Ability to work at various RRC Polytech campuses.
Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license.
