The Region of Peel is seeking a compassionate and experienced Team Lead – LTC Operations and Maintenance to oversee housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance operations across its five Long-Term Care Homes and Adult Day Services. The role is crucial to ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment that supports the well-being and dignity of residents and staff.
This position is ideal for a motivated leader with strong technical and people-management skills who is passionate about improving the quality of life in healthcare settings through efficient facility management and maintenance excellence.
Operational Leadership: Collaborate with the Facility Services Supervisor to lead a dedicated team in ensuring seamless facility operations across multiple LTC sites.
Preventive Maintenance: Manage and oversee maintenance programs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure reliability and minimize downtime.
Facility Inspections & Safety: Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and maintenance standards in line with the Ontario Building Code, Fire Codes, and WHMIS regulations.
Vendor and Contract Management: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely, high-quality service delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
Staff Development: Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to maintenance and operations teams, fostering professional growth and safety awareness.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with nursing and administrative staff to ensure that facility operations support resident care and operational needs.
Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all maintenance and housekeeping practices meet applicable laws, codes, and internal policies, mitigating potential risks.
Education & Support: Deliver training on infection control, life safety procedures, and emergency preparedness for staff across all facilities.
Minimum 3 years of technical experience in building maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
At least 1 year of supervisory experience, preferably in a healthcare, geriatric, or long-term care setting.
Strong working knowledge of building systems, maintenance protocols, and safety regulations.
Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience managing unionized staff considered an asset.
Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.

Salary Range: CAD 92,151 – 115,189 per year (approx. CAD 7,679 – 9,599 per month).
