BGC Engineering Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Tailings Engineer of Record (EoR) to lead the design, construction, and operation of a Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) as part of its North American operations. This position is an exceptional opportunity to join an international applied earth sciences firm with over 700 professionals across Canada, the US, Chile, the Dominican Republic, and Australia. Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Engineer of Record for a Tailings Storage Facility, ensuring compliance with global and regional regulations.

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists.

• Oversee all project phases including site investigation, design, construction, operations, and closure of tailings facilities.

• Provide technical guidance on regulatory compliance, including the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM).

• Maintain close collaboration with clients, stakeholders, and project partners.

• Conduct project travel and site visits as required, both domestically and internationally.

• Prepare, review, and validate technical reports, designs, and documentation.

• Ensure safety, quality, and environmental compliance in all project phases.

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Civil or Geological Engineering.

• Registered as a Professional Engineer in North America.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in tailings management, dam design, or related geotechnical engineering.

• Strong knowledge of GISTM, regulatory frameworks, and industry best practices.

• Proven leadership and project management experience.

• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

• Valid passport and ability to travel internationally.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive field vehicles.

Additional Requirements:

• Willingness to comply with drug and alcohol testing policies when required.

• Must meet health and safety vaccination requirements for field and travel work.

• Provide a driver’s abstract for safety review upon hiring.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive base salary ranging from $125,000 to $250,000 CAD annually (commensurate with experience).
