Tailings Engineer Of Record

Description:

BGC Engineering Inc. is seeking a Tailings Engineer of Record to lead multi-disciplinary teams in the design, construction, and operation of tailings storage facilities (TSFs) across North America. The role involves full lifecycle management of tailings projects, from site investigation and design through operations and closure, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as GISTM. The Engineer of Record will function as a key technical leader, providing guidance, oversight, and support to the team and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as Engineer of Record (EoR) for tailings storage facilities.

• Lead multi-disciplinary teams to design and support TSF construction and operations.

• Ensure projects comply with applicable regulations and industry standards.

• Oversee all phases of tailings projects: investigation, design, construction, operations, and closure.

• Travel as required to project sites for inspections, oversight, and client engagement.

• Maintain high standards of safety, environmental compliance, and technical excellence.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Expertise in tailings management and mining geotechnical engineering.

• Registered Professional Engineer in North America.

• Strong leadership, analytical, project management, and communication abilities.

• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and industry best practices (e.g., GISTM).

• Ability to work across multiple locations and travel as needed.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate field vehicles.
