Description:
Reporting to the Manager, IT Infrastructure, the Technical Analyst – System Administrator is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and support TransForm’s compute infrastructure. This includes physical and virtual server environments, operating systems, compute hardware platforms, enterprise virtualization technologies, and related system administration functions.
The role provides both project and operational support, ensuring the stability, security, performance, and continuous availability of TransForm’s compute services across the region. The Technical Analyst - System Administrator works collaboratively with network, security, and application teams.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
· Provides Tier 3 support for server‑related service requests, incidents and problems, working with extended technical and application teams to resolve critical production issues, including after‑hours support as required.
· Builds, configures, tests, and maintains compute infrastructure solutions, including physical servers, virtual machines, hypervisors, and operating system platforms (e.g., Windows Server, Linux distributions, VMware, etc.).
· Maintains and optimizes server performance, capacity, and availability through monitoring, patching, lifecycle management, and system tuning.
· Ensures best practices for compute environment security, resiliency, backup/recovery, & availability.
· Ensures compute systems are safeguarded through consistent application of security controls, patching, and vulnerability remediation.
· Participates in the planning, technical design, and implementation of compute environments supporting project deliverables.
· Prepares and submits change requests for compute‑related updates, improvements, and maintenance following change control processes.
· Attends Change Advisory Board (CAB) as required to present, review, or support proposed changes.
· Organizes and prioritizes daily operational tasks, work assignments, and incident resolution to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
· Ensures documentation, procedures, diagrams, and configuration records are accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with organizational standards.
MUST- HAVES:
· Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
· Experience with hyperscale cloud operations and workload migration strategies
· 3–6 years of hands‑on experience in an enterprise IT environment, supporting either Unix/Linux (AIX, RHEL, Ubuntu) or Microsoft Windows Server platforms.
· Experience with installation, cabling, and maintenance of enterprise-grade server hardware (e.g., Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant) in data centres or computer rooms.
· Experience deploying, configuring, patching, and maintaining server operating systems and hardware, using remote management tools such as iLO or iDRAC, as well as onsite support.
· Proficiency managing compute resources using enterprise hypervisors (VMware vSphere).
· Ability to integrate cloud compute resources with on‑premises infrastructure, including Active Directory, file shares, and local networking.
