Steward Supervisor

Support a skilled and engaged team as Stewarding Supervisor, where your care and inspection of all flatware, tableware and kitchen equipment will ensure a superior standard.

What You Will Be Doing

Reporting to the Chief Steward, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
 

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service while supporting fellow Colleagues
  • Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards
  • Train and supervise the Stewarding team in following policies and procedures
  • Supervise and maintain the sanitation of kitchen equipment and other areas assigned
  • Assign colleagues their duties
  • Minimize loss and breakage of china, glassware and silverware
  • Provide fast efficient guest service and respond quickly to customer requests
  • Ensure Kitchen Colleagues have dishes/silverware as required
  • Review banquet event orders and ensure all set-ups and supplies are in place
  • Ensure all equipment is in working order and report any items in need of repair
  • Following all safety and sanitation policies
  • Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles
  • Other duties as assigned
     

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:
 

  • Previous experience in a Stewarding environment required
  • Valid Alberta drivers license required
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications preferred
  • Knowledge of chemicals and sanitation preferred
  • WHMIS and First aid certified an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
     

Additional Information

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
