Description:

CSA Group, a globally recognized leader in standards development, testing, inspection, and certification, is seeking a Standards Marketing Strategy Manager to lead marketing and communications initiatives for its Standards organization in Toronto, ON. CSA Group’s mission is to make the world a safer, more sustainable place, with over 3,500 standards and a global presence across 30+ labs and offices. This role is ideal for a strategic marketing professional with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of business-to-business marketing.

The Manager will develop and execute marketing and communications strategies aligned with the business objectives of CSA Group’s Standards portfolio. This includes working with senior executives, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to plan, implement, and optimize campaigns, while continuously evaluating success through metrics and key performance indicators. The role also involves team leadership, stakeholder relationship management, and direct involvement in campaign execution.


Key Responsibilities:

Global Marketing Strategy Development and Execution

  • Collaborate with CSA Group’s Standards leaders to understand business goals and marketing needs.

  • Develop comprehensive marketing and communications strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Obtain buy-in from Standards leaders and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for strategy evaluation.

  • Brief and leverage Marketing and Communications Centres of Expertise (COE) for campaign execution.

  • Monitor and evaluate campaign success through regular post-mortem reviews and KPI analysis.

  • Develop marketing strategies within designated budgets and oversee execution.

  • Create detailed metrics dashboards using analytics tools to inform stakeholder communications.

  • Communicate analytics findings, test results, and implementation decisions to CSA Group leadership.

Stakeholder Relations

  • Work closely with subject matter experts and leaders across the Standards organization to understand their business objectives.

  • Develop proactive and reactive marketing strategies for government, industry, and academic audiences.

  • Educate Marketing and Communications COE about stakeholder goals and provide thorough campaign briefs.

  • Facilitate impactful marketing campaigns leveraging internal and external expertise.

General Management & Leadership

  • Hire, manage, and train direct and indirect reports, providing clear performance expectations.

  • Establish career development plans and foster a culture of continuous learning.

  • Support leadership in campaign reporting and performance analysis.

  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and mentor staff.

  • Recognize team successes and support collaborative, cohesive team development.


Education and Qualifications:

  • University degree or college diploma in marketing, communications, or related field.

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in B2B marketing.

  • 3–5 years of people management experience with a proven ability to motivate teams and foster morale.

  • Strong ability to prioritize objectives, make decisions with incomplete information, and manage complex projects.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, planning, and detail-orientation skills.

  • Executive presence to advise and gain approval from senior leadership.

  • Proven relationship management skills with managers, peers, teams, stakeholders, vendors, and customers.

  • Ability to work hands-on as needed to support project goals.

  • Proficient in compiling and analyzing performance data to inform strategy and resource allocation.
