Staff Product Designer

Description:

This role sits within the Firefox UX team, which is responsible for building products and services that uphold Mozilla’s mission of keeping the Internet open, accessible, private, and people-first.

The Staff Product Designer will play a strategic role in shaping the future of Firefox on Android and iOS, with a primary emphasis on delivering polished, native, and high-quality mobile experiences. This includes designing intuitive interfaces, raising the bar on visual craft, and ensuring usability and clarity across platforms. The position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, researchers, and content strategists.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead UX and design efforts for major initiatives on Firefox Mobile, especially Android.

• Translate user needs and business goals into elegant, intuitive, and visually compelling mobile experiences.

• Produce wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, and mockups to test and validate designs.

• Advocate for mobile-first and accessibility-driven design principles.

• Collaborate with product and engineering to align user experience with business and technical requirements.

• Contribute to and evolve Mozilla’s Design System across mobile platforms.

• Support product strategy from concept through delivery, ensuring user-centric outcomes.

What You Bring:

• 7+ years of UX design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating mobile-first design.

• Expertise in native mobile design languages, especially Android (with iOS experience as a plus).

• Strong balance between user advocacy, business goals, and technical feasibility.

• Experience in designing for privacy, security, and accessibility.

• Proficiency in Figma and experience working with design systems.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to collaborate across distributed teams.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, iterative, remote-first environment.

• Passion for ethical, privacy-first, and open-source technology.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with browser UX or large-scale consumer products.

• Familiarity with accessibility-driven design.

• Knowledge of Jira or similar product management tools.

• Exposure to design thinking, lean development, and research methodologies.
