The Senior Human Resources Generalist will play an integral role in the organization by providing full-range Human Resources support to our Transchem Group business headquartered in Cambridge, Ontario, including regional sales and service teams in Canada and the United States. In this role, you will serve as the liaison between Human Resources and Functional Leadership, supporting business needs while enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of processes and programs. Success in this role will require a keen understanding of business priorities and the ability to execute HR strategies and people initiatives. You will help business leaders by making data-driven recommendations that improve performance, retention, and the overall employee experience. To succeed, you will need a flexible skill set, including the ability to partner effectively, execute tactically, and collaborate across multiple teams, levels, and situations. The ideal candidate will be a competent and resourceful individual with excellent attention to detail, a passion for HR, and a focus on internal customers. Key Responsibilities
- Be a trusted partner to leaders, managers, and individual contributors to support the execution of business priorities.
- Support change management and culture transformation efforts that drive a collaborative, customer-oriented, solution-driven mindset in the organization.
- Nurture a positive working environment; work with local management teams to facilitate employee engagement activities that support a culture of high performance and inclusion.
- Manage the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of qualified job applicants, collaborating with hiring managers and department heads to understand skills and competencies required.
- Support current and future business needs through employee development, engagement, and motivation.
- Provide support and guidance to management and other staff when employee questions and issues arise; required to execute tasks in delicate circumstances such as reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
- Drive best practices for performance management processes.
- Provide HR reporting and recommendations to management and leadership through established HR metrics.
- Maintain compliance with country, provincial/state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Support the planning and implementation of company-wide HR initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, management, or related degree program and a minimum of 5-8 years of progressive HR experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner
- Demonstrable interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
