As a seasoned Electrical Engineer, you’ll be working on technically complex projects involving Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), UPS systems, and power conditioning equipment. You’ll play a critical role in the full lifecycle of project design and execution, collaborating with talented engineers and project teams. Responsibilities

  • Lead or support the engineering and design of Solar PV, BESS, UPS, and power conditioning projects across industrial and commercial applications.
  • Prepare electrical drawings and packages, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), layouts, permitting, and IFC/as-built documentation.
  • Conduct low- and medium-voltage electrical system design: switchgear, transformers, protection, control panels, and interconnections.
  • Perform load calculations, cable sizing, grounding, protection studies, and arc-flash analyses using ETAP or equivalent tools.
  • Coordinate field activities: site visits, RFIs, commissioning support, and technical issue resolution.
  • Interface with vendors for equipment selection, technical reviews, and integration coordination.
  • Support technical proposals and RFP responses with conceptual designs and engineering insights.
  • Stay up to date with evolving codes and contribute to internal design templates and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Solar PV, BESS, UPS, or industrial electrical systems.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with ETAP or similar tools is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical codes and standards (OESC, CSA, NEC, NFPA, IEEE).
  • Comfortable reading/interpreting electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a team-first mindset.
  • P.Eng. license in Ontario or in active pursuit.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
