Description:
The Senior Azure Solutions Architect - Enterprise is responsible for leading the design, governance, and delivery of complex, multi-workload Azure programs. This individual acts as the primary architectural authority supporting customers through cloud strategy, landing zone design, security & compliance, platform engineering, modernization, and migration. The role requires deep cross-domain knowledge, senior stakeholder engagement, and the ability to navigate both technical architecture and executive-level conversations.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years in cloud architecture, enterprise architecture, or senior infrastructure/application architecture roles.
- 7+ years hands-on Azure experience, including platform design, governance, security, and complex workload migration.
- Proven experience leading multi-workload, enterprise-scale Azure transformation or migration programs.
- Strong background in security, governance, compliance frameworks, and enterprise controls.
- Demonstrated ability to develop Azure landing zones, CAF-aligned architectures, and platform engineering patterns leveraging Infrastucture as Code (Bicep/Terraform).
- Experience with hybrid/on-prem integration, identity federation, networking, BCDR, and cloud security best practices.
- Deep knowledge of Azure-native services across compute, storage, networking, data, identity, and management.
- Experience with cloud native modernization patterns (containers, microservices (AKS), Azure DevOps, IaC, YAML pipelines, GitOps).
- Prior consulting, professional services, or customer-facing architecture experience required.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
- Certifications strongly preferred: AZ-305, AZ-500, AZ-700, AZ-104, TOGAF or SABSA (bonus).
Key Responsibilities
1. Azure Architecture & Design
- Lead enterprise-level Azure architecture across landing zones, identity, networking, security, governance, observability, and workload architecture.
- Author and validate HLDs, LLDs, blueprints, roadmaps, and architectural artifacts.
- Define target state architectures aligned to best practices (CAF, Zero Trust).
2. Program Delivery Leadership
- Provide architectural oversight for large-scale Azure transformation projects (migration, modernization, platform builds).
- Ensure technical integrity, risk mitigation, and alignment with enterprise patterns.
- Guide engineering teams, provide mentorship, perform design reviews, and support escalations.
3. Security, Governance & Compliance
- Define security baselines, RBAC models, IAM controls, encryption, network segmentation, logging, monitoring, and data protection.
- Govern alignment with industry frameworks: SOC2, ISO27001, CIS, NIST, HIPAA, PCI, etc.
- Ensure adherence to Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, and organizational compliance standards.
4. Customer Engagement & Advisory
- Drive architectural decision-making, trade-off discussions, and roadmap alignment.
- Support presales at SME capacity: estimation, solutioning, and SOW definition for new engagements.
5. Delivery Excellence & Coaching
- Provide end-to-end technical leadership throughout the program lifecycle.
- Mentor and upskill engineers and jr. architects within the Azure practice.
- Contribute to internal accelerators, frameworks, best practices, and reusable templates.

Ideal Candidate Background
- Has led at least 3–5 end-to-end enterprise Azure programs, ideally in regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, energy, public sector).
- Comes from a consulting, professional services, or systems integrator background (e.g., large SI, large boutique cloud partner)
- Comfortable supporting strategy-to-execution with diverse stakeholder groups (business, security, infra, app teams).
- Strong understanding of cost management, FinOps, governance controls, and cloud operating models.
- Can navigate ambiguity and drive clarity through architectural direction and decision frameworks.
