Description:
The Youth Intensive Rehabilitation Unit “Le Pixel,” specializing in intervention with young people presenting intellectual disabilities (ID) and/or autism spectrum disorder (ASD) with significant adaptation and behavioral challenges, is seeking specialized educators to provide essential support.
Daily Role:
As a Specialized Educator, you will work directly with children and adolescents facing major daily challenges. Your responsibilities will include:
Being an agent of change and creating opportunities to support social and community participation and inclusion for youth
Supervising and supporting youth in their daily activities (hygiene, meals, sleep, leisure)
Applying appropriate intervention strategies to manage difficult behaviors and promote a safe environment
Encouraging autonomy by developing skills suited to the youths’ abilities
Intervening during crises and providing structured support
Analyzing behaviors and adjusting interventions in collaboration with the clinical team
Offering a reassuring, clear, and predictable environment while stimulating social and emotional development
Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team including healthcare aides, specialized peace and security workers, psychoeducators, rehabilitation assistants, auxiliary nurses, and clinical nurses
Documenting and reporting on the progress of the youth
An interdisciplinary team of specialized peace and security workers is also present to provide support and intervene as needed, ensuring a structured and safe environment.
Multiple replacement options available:
Full-time: 37.5 hours/week, rotating day-evening shifts, every other weekend
Part-time: 15 hours/week, rotating day-evening shifts, including weekends

Class 01:
College diploma (DEC) in specialized education techniques or intervention techniques in delinquency from a recognized institution
Includes those with a college certificate in specialized education or institutional reeducation
Class 02:
14 years of general schooling recognized by the ministry or a certified educator diploma in exceptional childhood recognized by the Ministry of Health and Social Services
Students who have completed one year of university in social sciences (social work, criminology, psychoeducation) are accepted
Completion of 50% of general courses leading to an official diploma in institutional reeducation or specialized education (college courses)
A vehicle and/or English skills may be required for some services or programs
