Solutions Engineer

Our team is seeking an Uncrewed Aircraft System (UAS) Solutions Engineer to act as the primary technical resource supporting the development of new UAS business opportunities.

The UAS Solutions Engineer is responsible for supporting business development in developing relationships with potential customers as well as actively managing the technical solution during the customer sales process. The UAS Solutions Engineer will interact directly with clients to understand each client’s use case and technologies to determine the role of Kongsberg Geospatial UAS Software technologies to address client needs. Working with the business development team as the key technical advisor and solution advocate, the UAS Solutions Engineer interfaces with Engineering to provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the business development process.

This is a hybrid position working out of our Ottawa, Ontario office. Travel within and outside of Canada is required up to 25% of the time.

Duties include:

• Establishing and maintaining a technical relationship with customers through the pre-sales and post-sales process.
• Resolving customer technical issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives.
• Maintaining expert level product and solutions knowledge.
• Configuring and deploying products to meet customer needs.
• Supporting engineering by understanding customer needs and issues.
• Articulating technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.
• Responding to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.
• Listening, understanding and conveying customer requirements.
• Architecting and reviewing solutions that are designed to cost.
• Traveling to customer sites to perform presentations, discuss alternatives, and develop solutions.
• Participating in trade shows.
• Conducting technical/product training as required.

You Have:

• A post-secondary degree or diploma in a field related to Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of software development/engineering experience.
• Experience with application programming.
• Experience with source control
• Good understanding of GIS/Geospatial Software technology and applications.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills at all levels of stakeholders.
• Valid driver’s license
• Availability and interest in traveling within and outside of Canada up to 25% of the time.
