Description:
CIBC is building a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world and seeks a Solution Architect to collaborate with business and technology partners in developing practical architecture solutions aligned with CIBC’s technology standards and vision.
This role requires technical expertise, stakeholder engagement, and leadership to drive innovation, ensure compliance, and guide technology decisions within the Technology Architecture team.
The Solution Architect will work on projects related to PBB (Personal & Business Banking) and/or Capital Markets portfolios, ensuring that technology solutions align with business objectives and enterprise standards.
The position follows a hybrid work arrangement, requiring 1-3 days per week onsite, with the rest being remote.
✅ Client Engagement & Strategy:
Work with CIBC business and technology leaders to understand business priorities and align technology solutions accordingly
Provide thought leadership and consulting services while ensuring compliance with CIBC’s architecture governance
Guide delivery teams in creating scalable, sustainable, and secure technology solutions
✅ Architecture Development & Leadership:
Lead and direct the development of solution architectures for projects within PBB and Capital Markets portfolios
Ensure each solution meets CIBC’s technical standards, guiding principles, and best practices
Moderate the solution creation process, ensuring alignment across multiple architects and business lines
✅ Technical & Innovation Expertise:
Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends influencing CIBC’s business outcomes
Work with business and technology partners to architect solutions using best practices
Ensure compliance with architecture principles, enterprise frameworks, and technology policies
✅ Relationship Management & Collaboration:
Build strong relationships with internal teams, executives, stakeholders, and vendors
Work closely with project teams to develop technology solutions aligned with business goals
Act as a trusted advisor by continuously evolving industry expertise and supporting clients effectively
🔹 2-5 years of experience in technical architecture, solution design, consulting, or business/technology stakeholder management
🔹 Strong knowledge of architecture practices, emerging technologies, and IT governance
🔹 Familiarity with TOGAF and/or Zachman frameworks and SOA Architecture (Asset)
🔹 Experience in financial services or regulatory sector architecture (Preferred)
🔹 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to explain complex concepts clearly
🔹 Ability to balance competing priorities between time constraints and sustainable solutions
