As a Staff Software Engineer, you will design and develop cutting-edge IoT platforms, working across devices, cloud, and mobile platforms. You will influence technical stack decisions, shape the engineering roadmap, and collaborate closely with executive leadership. The role emphasizes innovation, high-performance software, and delivering scalable solutions with measurable impact.
Architect, design, and optimize high-performance software and firmware for next-gen IoT platforms.
Translate abstract product and executive ideas into actionable engineering plans.
Troubleshoot and optimize software on distributed systems ensuring security, scalability, and resilience.
Develop automated, data-driven end-to-end test frameworks.
Mentor engineering teams and foster a culture of ownership, excellence, and pragmatic innovation.
Rapidly iterate and innovate, solving complex technical challenges under ambiguity.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
8+ years of software development experience across at least one of device, backend, cloud, or mobile platforms.
Proficiency in Golang, Kotlin, and C++.
Full stack and ecosystem understanding, including CI/CD, cloud-native architecture, and security-aware development.
Experience with analytics and observability tools: Snowflake, Redash, Grafana, Datadog.
Proven track record of independent project delivery in fast-paced environments.
Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical challenges clearly.
Rapid learning and adaptability to new technologies and distributed systems.
Strategic problem-solving, balancing technical trade-offs with business impact.
Leadership and ability to influence technical decisions and challenge the status quo.
Hybrid work in Vancouver or Toronto.

Salary: $166,000 – $250,000 CAD / year
