Service Technician

Description:

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, is seeking experienced Diesel Mechanics (Service Technician III) to join their growing team. This role is ideal for skilled technicians looking to make an impact by maintaining and repairing complex rental equipment in a professional and safety-focused environment. Technicians will play a key role in ensuring operational reliability and customer satisfaction through exceptional service and technical expertise.

As a Service Tech III, you will handle advanced repairs involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems. In addition, you will assist with training lower-level technicians, maintain accurate documentation, and occasionally travel to job sites for on-site service. Key Responsibilities:

• Safely maintain and repair advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental equipment

• Train and mentor junior technicians as needed

• Maintain clear and complete daily work orders and electronic service documentation

• Travel to job sites for equipment maintenance/repair when necessary

• Maintain a professional and clean service vehicle

• Assist in pickup and delivery of equipment and parts

• Perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 3–5 years of mechanical experience in tools and equipment repair

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

• Advanced knowledge of tools and engines; strong mechanical aptitude

• Must own tools relevant to the position

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent teamwork and customer service skills

• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. frequently
