Senior Technical Lead

Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Lead with deep expertise in enterprise WordPress development, PHP backend engineering, MySQL optimization, cloud-native deployments, and security/compliance implementation. The role involves leading development and support projects, working directly with customers, and guiding onsite and nearshore teams using Agile, Sprint, and Scrum methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced WordPress solutions including Gutenberg blocks, plugins, custom themes, multisite, and multilingual (Polylang) systems.

• Implement hooks, filters, transients, caching, performance tuning, and WordPress security hardening.

• Build secure backend features using Advanced PHP, following best coding and compliance standards.

• Optimize MySQL schemas, indexing, normalization, and DDL/DML operations.

• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker.

• Work with AWS services such as ECS Fargate, S3, RDS, Valkey/Redis, Route53, VPC, Load Balancers, CloudWatch Logs, IAM and SDKs,.

• Develop front-end components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, and Angular.js.

• Manage Node.js/npm builds, packaging, and dependencies.

• Implement and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines with testing, security scans, and GitFlow.

• Enforce security, compliance, and best practices across applications, infrastructure, and pipelines.

• Provide L3 technical support, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.

• Lead onsite + nearshore development teams and drive Agile, Sprint Planning, and Scrum ceremonies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with WordPress (Gutenberg, plugins, themes, ACF, Beaver Builder, Gravity Forms, multisite, multilingual, performance & security).

• Expertise in Advanced PHP, secure coding, and optimization practices.

• Solid understanding of MySQL (DDL/DML, indexing, query tuning, normalization).

• Experience with Docker and container-based deployments.

• Proficiency with AWS: ECS Fargate, S3, RDS, CloudFront, Valkey/Redis, Route53, VPC, Load Balancers, CloudWatch, IAM, Queue service and SDKs,.

• Strong UI skills using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular.js, React.js.

• Hands-on experience with Node.js, npm, and build tooling.

• Strong knowledge of GitLab CI/CD, automated testing, and GitFlow branching.

• Experience implementing security standards, compliance controls (GDPR, OWASP, best practices), security scans, and audit readiness.

• Excellent communication, customer engagement, leadership, and Agile/Scrum experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Redis/Valkey caching and WordPress performance profiling.

• Familiarity with AWS services, REST APIs, SEO, and application security best practices.

• Exposure to SAST/DAST tools, code quality automation, and compliance frameworks.
