Element Fleet Management, the world’s largest pure-play fleet manager, is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join its dynamic global tax team of over 40 professionals. This role involves navigating complex tax regulations, preparing U.S. federal and state corporate and partnership income tax returns, managing provisions, and providing critical tax technical support to internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives.

As a Senior Tax Analyst, you will assist in the preparation of annual U.S. federal/state corporate and partnership income tax returns, respond to inquiries during federal and provincial/state income tax audits, and prepare U.S. international tax-related forms such as 1042, 5471, 5472, and 8858. You will communicate with external auditors for year-end and quarterly tax provision calculations, collaborate on process improvements and automation initiatives, and perform research and analysis of significant tax accounting matters. This position may involve occasional international travel and offers exposure to both Canadian and international tax compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare annual U.S. federal and state corporate and partnership income tax returns and related provisions.

  • Prepare and manage U.S. international tax forms (1042, 5471, 5472, 8858, etc.).

  • Support federal and provincial/state income tax audits with documentation and responses.

  • Provide tax technical support for calculations, including 163(j) and BEAT compliance.

  • Communicate with external auditors on consolidated year-end and quarterly tax provision calculations.

  • Identify and implement process improvements and tax process automation opportunities.

  • Perform research and analysis on tax issues and document significant tax accounting treatments.

  • Support ad hoc U.S. compliance and tax-related matters as required.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s in Taxation preferred).

  • CPA designation or actively pursuing is considered an asset.

  • 2–3 years of U.S. tax experience in a public accounting firm or large multinational corporation (Big Four experience is a plus).

  • Familiarity with U.S. income tax software (e.g., OneSource).

  • Advanced Excel skills; strong knowledge of SQL preferred.

  • Collaborative team player with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with tax technology and automation tools (e.g., Alteryx) is an asset.

  • Salary Range: 76,300 – 104,900 CAD annually (approx. 6,358 – 8,741 CAD monthly).
