Senior Tax Analyst

 

Description:

CAE, a global leader in simulation technologies and aviation training, is seeking a Senior Canadian Tax Compliance Analyst to join its tax team in Montréal. This role is critical in supporting the organization’s Canadian and international tax compliance and reporting functions. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, self-driven, and collaborative, with the ability to manage multiple tax-related tasks under tight deadlines.

Reporting directly to the Manager of Canadian Tax Compliance, the Senior Analyst will be involved in both domestic and foreign tax matters, contributing to the overall tax strategy and compliance efforts of the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze tax provisions for both Canadian and foreign subsidiaries.

  • Assist in the consolidated tax provision preparation process.

  • Prepare Canadian corporate tax returns (T2) and supporting schedules such as T106, T1134, and credits related to internships.

  • Support tax audits for Canadian entities by working closely with tax leaders.

  • Maintain and monitor tax schedules for foreign subsidiaries.

  • Conduct tax research and analysis on special projects and ad hoc requests.

  • Manage tax provisions for jurisdictions with unique requirements.

  • Supervise and review work performed by tax interns.


Required Qualifications:

  • University degree in Accounting

  • CPA/CA designation (considered an asset)

  • Master’s degree in Taxation or similar program (completed or in progress is an asset)

  • At least 5 years of accounting experience, with 3 years in Canadian corporate taxation strongly preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft 365 environment

  • Knowledge of Power BI, Oracle, and HFM considered an asset

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines

  • Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset

  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required
