Senior Systems Administrator

Description:

First National Financial is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator – Azure Cloud to join our Infrastructure and Operations team in Toronto, ON. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and migrating on-premises infrastructure to Azure.

The role requires strong expertise in Azure cloud technologies, including networking, security, backup, and automation, as well as problem-solving skills to ensure infrastructure performance and security.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Maintain Azure Landing Zone for compliance and workload optimization.
✅ Install, configure, and manage Azure Virtual Networks, Subnets, DHCP, DNS, Network Security Groups, Load Balancers, Application Gateway, and Traffic Manager.
✅ Monitor Azure infrastructure for availability, performance, and security.
✅ Implement and manage Azure Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions.
✅ Manage Azure RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) and cloud-based monitoring/alerting systems.
✅ Perform troubleshooting and resolve cloud-based infrastructure issues.
✅ Deploy and manage Infrastructure as Code using Azure CLI, PowerShell, and Bicep.
✅ Document cloud infrastructure and provide training to internal teams.

Ideal Candidate:

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with IaaS and PaaS in Microsoft Azure.
• Intermediate to Expert knowledge of Azure CLI, PowerShell, and Bicep.
• Strong experience in Azure Active Directory & Active Directory.
• ITIL Foundations certification is preferred.
• Experience with VMware Horizon (nice to have).
• Strong communication, documentation, and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team while managing multiple tasks in high-pressure situations.
