As a Senior Software Engineer II, STCE New Products, you will play a key role in designing and developing next-generation, high-impact software solutions that drive the digital transformation of critical industries. This position offers the opportunity to work with a broad range of technologies that connect IoT devices, sensor data, and real-time operational workflows.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Design, and Go-To-Market teams to not only implement but also influence product direction. This role combines deep technical ownership with customer empathy, ensuring solutions are built for scale, performance, and real-world utility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and develop new “0 to 1” software products that deliver tangible value to customers.

• Solve complex engineering problems across the entire technology stack, from firmware to front-end systems.

• Collaborate with product leaders to define features based on customer needs and business priorities.

• Rapidly prototype, test, and iterate solutions based on feedback from customers and sales teams.

• Work directly with customers to understand their operational challenges and design impactful solutions.

• Champion Samsara’s cultural principles—Customer Success, Long-Term Focus, Growth Mindset, Inclusivity, and Teamwork—in every project.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.

• At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, and algorithmic problem-solving.

• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take ownership of projects end-to-end.

• Demonstrated ability to balance building quickly with building for scale.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience with AI/ML systems, algorithm development, and real-world sensor data integration.

• Familiarity with geolocation technologies, spatial data algorithms, and scalable, low-latency data pipelines.

• Experience building systems that process millions of events daily across distributed architectures.

Salary Range: CA$142800 – CA$212520 annually (CA$11900 – CA$17710 monthly)
Bonus & RSUs: Eligible based on role and performance

Work Flexibility:

This position is remote within Canada, with occasional travel (up to 10%) for customer and team engagements. Candidates residing outside Canada are not eligible for relocation support.
