Description:
A prominent Canadian national retail organization, in collaboration with Executive 2000 Institute, is seeking Senior Retail District Managers to oversee retail operations across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Based in Halifax, Moncton, or Saint John, this strategic leadership role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact in a fast-growing, dynamic retail environment. The ideal candidate is a high-energy leader with a deep understanding of retail operations, a passion for customer experience, and the ability to drive sales while fostering strong team performance.
You will serve as a brand ambassador, spearheading sales strategies, operational excellence, and community engagement across a regional cluster of stores. With full accountability for store performance, HR compliance, and people development, you’ll be instrumental in shaping a unique retail experience that resonates with both customers and employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & People Management:
Oversee the operations of multiple retail stores through regular check-ins, visits, and development conversations.
Support hiring processes and staffing across store locations, ensuring diverse and high-performing teams.
Drive a culture of feedback, training, and employee recognition in alignment with company performance drivers.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, and collaborate with HR to resolve any employee relations matters.
Sales & Customer Service Operations:
Achieve and exceed district-level revenue targets and KPIs through strategic planning and execution.
Manage P&L for the district; identify areas for cost savings and profit optimization.
Partner with marketing to maintain consistent brand presentation and in-store visual merchandising.
Support Store Managers with scheduling, payroll, and compliance with holiday pay, overtime, and other policies.
Maintain high store standards in terms of merchandising, cleanliness, safety, and inventory management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Act as the communication bridge between HQ and retail teams, providing insights and feedback from the field.
Collaborate on new store openings in your region and help ensure seamless rollouts.
Promote a culture of innovation and best practice sharing among store teams.
Community Engagement:
Represent the brand within local communities through outreach, partnerships, and charitable events.
Understand the local customer base and market trends to tailor strategies that drive traffic and sales.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5+ years in a multi-unit retail leadership position (District/Area Manager level or higher).
Experience managing at least 8 stores is required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Strong knowledge of P&L, POS systems, and CRM tools.
Proven track record in team leadership, recruitment, and performance management.
High energy, proactive problem-solving attitude, and a passion for customer excellence.
Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Experience in visual merchandising and operational excellence in retail settings.
