Senior Quality Engineering Specialist

 

Description:

  • Provides pre-contractual estimate of time/effort required to implement defined project QA activities for review
  • Creates project quality assurance plans and/or generates quality assurance sections of other project management plans
  • Provides presentation to the project outlining the objectives and tasks defined in the quality assurance plans
  • Conducts periodic audits of the project for compliance with the project's defined processes and procedures, reporting accordingly
  • Conducts audits of the projects work products for compliance with defined processes, procedures and requirements, reporting accordingly
  • Provides guidance in the interpretation or application of the Quality System processes to project team seeking assistance as required
  • Initiates and tracks to closure, corrective actions arising from process and product audits. Where these actions cannot be resolved within the project, they will be responsible for invoking an escalation process
  • Participates in project review meetings to report on QA issues and keep appraised of current project status
  • Participates in design reviews and configuration audits
  • Participates as a member of the project Configuration Control Board (CCB) and project Material Review Board (MRB)
  • Monitors the conduct of formal test activities (eg. acceptance tests; qualification tests) for compliance with test plans and procedures
  • Plans, conducts, reports on production First Article Tests and Inspections when these are required by contract or internal product, requirements seeking assistance as required
  • Plans, conducts, reports on production Periodic / Control Tests when these are required by contract seeking assistance as required
  • Validates the commissioning of production test equipment prior to use on product
  • Assists the subcontract / purchasing manager in the evaluation of supplier's quality systems and processes
  • Performs trend analysis using project generated data eg. defect metrics; problem reports
  • Acts as primary point of contact for contracting agency QA personnel. Supports contracting agency visits / audits as necessary
  • Conducts meetings related to his/her area of responsibility; sets agenda, guides meetings, identifies and follows up actions, generates minutes
  • Supports Company initiatives by applying them, where relevant, to their area of responsibility (e.g. piloting or using new processes and tools)
  • Recommends technically accurate and feasible solutions for typical situations
  • Seeks to understand customer/end user needs, environment, and operational concept and applies this knowledge to develop a QA program that addresses these issues.
  • May participate in proposal activities to provide guidance on the application and interpretation of quality assurance related issues
