Senior Qa Tester

Description:

We are seeking a Senior QA Tester for a contract position with a government client, based in Toronto with hybrid work arrangements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software testing, including manual and automated testing, as well as performance and AODA compliance testing. The contract term is 7 months, with a start date in 2-3 weeks. The pay rate is negotiable based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform manual and automated testing for enterprise-level IT environments and large-scale systems.

• Create and maintain test strategies, test cases, scripts, and reports.

• Ensure compliance with AODA standards and conduct thorough accessibility testing.

• Utilize test automation tools such as Selenium or Postman for API testing.

• Conduct performance testing using tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar.

• Track defects and issues using tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar.

• Collaborate with functional and technical teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage for all functional and non-functional requirements.

• Ensure adherence to QA compliance standards and security testing best practices.

Core Skills and Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in software testing within large-scale enterprise IT environments.

• Hands-on experience with manual and automated testing tools and frameworks.

• Deep knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall testing methodologies.

• Experience with AODA testing and compliance.

• Expertise in test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Postman).

• Proficiency with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).

• Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps).

Technical Skills and Experience:

• Strong understanding of SQL and Oracle databases.

• Knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure, AWS).

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, GitLab).

Soft Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
