Senior Product Manager

Description:

Prodigy Education is a global leader in game-based learning with a mission to help every student love learning. They reach over 20 million students annually and support more than 800,000 teachers with their standards-aligned math and English platform. Prodigy is looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead critical product-led growth (PLG) initiatives, focusing primarily on their innovative State Challenge Math tournament.

This role is designed for a high-autonomy, high-impact leader who will own the entire PLG lifecycle—from ideation to go-to-market execution—and work cross-functionally to design viral growth loops and expand freemium strategies. The Senior Product Manager will lead scalable acquisition, activation, and engagement strategies targeting K-8 students, teachers, and parents, and will also contribute expertise across other PLG initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead Prodigy’s PLG roadmap, focusing on teacher and classroom growth loops, with the State Challenge as the main lever.

  • Strategically drive PLG initiatives such as State Challenge, Lead Teacher program, and in-product referrals.

  • Design and validate growth loops to increase user acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization.

  • Balance short-term wins with long-term vision to prioritize investments.

  • Plan integration of multiple PLG initiatives to create synergistic growth effects.

  • Analyze user cohorts to identify drop-offs and growth opportunities.

  • Use data and user insights to improve activation and engagement experiences.

  • Design and launch rapid A/B tests and experiments with clear hypotheses and success metrics.

  • Serve as the in-house PLG expert; mentor colleagues and share best practices.

  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Education, Game, Product, Engineering, Data, and Teacher Experience teams.

  • Define success metrics and report impact on company goals to senior leadership.

  • Build scalable tracking and reporting infrastructure for PLG initiatives.

About You:

  • 5+ years in product management, with at least 2 years focused on product-led growth.

  • Proven success leading impactful PLG programs in B2B2C, B2C, or EdTech environments.

  • Analytical mindset, comfortable designing experiments and using data to guide decisions.

  • Expertise in designing and optimizing growth loops beyond simple growth hacks.

  • Ability to strategize broadly while also delivering hands-on user value.

  • Skilled at growing products where end users differ from buyers (e.g., students vs teachers).

  • Experience identifying power users and converting them into champions or community drivers.

  • Thrives in ambiguous environments and turns broad opportunities into concrete impact.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with freemium models, user-generated virality, and referral programs.

  • Familiarity with EdTech ecosystems involving teachers, students, and parents.

  • Background in gamification, loyalty programs, or competitive/community engagement mechanics.

  • Data fluency with tools like Amplitude, Mixpanel, or SQL for funnel and growth analysis.

Why Work at Prodigy?

  • Join a mission-driven company impacting millions of students globally.

  • Be a key driver of the company’s first major PLG initiatives.

  • Work autonomously with influence across a high-impact cross-functional team.

  • Help shape the future of PLG at a company with tens of millions of users.

  • Enjoy a culture committed to diversity, inclusion, and continuous growth.
