Senior People Business Partner

You are a strategic People & Culture professional who is genuinely curious about how businesses operate and what drives organizational success. You enjoy understanding business challenges, building strong relationships with leaders and helping teams achieve results through effective people strategies. By aligning people priorities with business objectives, you help ensure CIRA has the talent, leadership capability and organizational effectiveness needed to successfully deliver on its strategic plan.
You are more than a trusted advisor on HR matters. You bring a business mindset to people challenges and decisions, ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions and help leaders think differently about their teams, talent and how work gets done.
You bring experience from multiple organizations and understand that there is rarely one "right" way to solve a people challenge. You draw on diverse experiences and perspectives to help leaders make informed decisions, strengthen their teams and navigate change.
Ideally, you have experience supporting leaders in a technology-driven organization and understand the realities of operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You are energized by helping leaders build high-performing teams, strengthen their effectiveness and achieve meaningful business outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Partner with leaders to understand business priorities, challenges and objectives and translate those into effective people strategies
- Build trusted relationships with leaders and act as a strategic advisor on talent, team effectiveness, organizational design and workforce planning
- Coach leaders on leadership effectiveness, employee engagement, accountability and people decision-making
- Advise leaders on talent, team and organizational decisions, including workforce planning, leadership development, organizational change, performance management and complex employee relations matters.
- Identify trends, risks and opportunities across teams and provide recommendations that improve organizational effectiveness and business outcomes
- Act as a connector across teams and functions, helping leaders navigate cross-functional challenges and align people decisions with business priorities
- Challenge assumptions and influence decision-making by bringing both a people and business lens to discussions
- Support leaders and teams through periods of growth, change and evolving business needs
- Partner closely with the Manager, People Programs and Operations and the Talent Acquisition & Employee Experience Lead to ensure People initiatives are effectively implemented and adopted across the organization
- Use data, insights and business context to proactively identify opportunities and solutions
What You Bring
- 8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including experience as a HR Business Partner
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and influence leaders at multiple levels of an organization
- Strong business acumen and the ability to connect people strategies to business outcomes
- Experience supporting organizational design, workforce planning, talent management and leadership development initiatives
- Strong employee relations experience and the ability to navigate complex people situations with sound judgment and professionalism
- Excellent coaching, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and balance strategic thinking with practical execution
- Strong judgment, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in multiple organizations or industries with the ability to apply diverse perspectives and approaches to business challenges
- Experience partnering with senior leaders within a technology or technology-enabled organization is strongly preferred
- CHRP, CHRL or equivalent professional designation is considered an asset
